The Sisters Of Mercy are a band of legend, a band that dozens of bands over the years have tried to emulate, and a band that has refused to ever be pigeonholed to a music "genre".
I complain a lot about how its been over 30 years since they've released a new album. However, despite the fact they haven't, they are still doing new songs which are performed live, which are recorded by bootleggers and can be found online. There's over twenty new Sisters songs that have never been on a cd that one can find online, but live rather than in studio. But with the Sisters, that isn't a bad thing, they often, for whatever reason, play the songs heavier when they do them live.
I came across a new song the band did a few days ago in Belgium.called 'When I'm On Fire'. It can be heard below. I'll put up a digital file of it later....
Sadly, the band rarely ever comes to the US, they tend to perform in the UK, Belgium, Germany, and at times, Brazil. The band themselves are a UK band, they just don't like touring the US for whatever reason..
At the moment the band still has no plans to release a new album. Andrew, the founder of the band, has said he doesn't need to and doesn't like working with record labels. But who knows, I think if a label offered him enough money he'd re-consider, just hasn't happened yet, probably won't.

After stories like this I usually stop grumbling about some of my fave bands tending to release a new album once in a decade or so
Andrew is fun to watch onstage... kinda like he really knows a thing or two about darkness and isn't reluctant to tell others (well I assume it's not just a seeming).
