Falll, Winter, Spring, or Summer: I'd have to go with winter, I like it cold, but not crazy about the rain, since I walk everywhere..

Aliases: I’m gradually losing my powers of imagination and seem to be sticking to Johanne (which is a latinized form of my real name) plus various sinister “last names”. I used to make up lots of nicknames that were related to some images I had in my mind or showing my dedication to something; but I don’t want it anymore, although the images and dedication are still with me. Personal traits are usually getting more prominent with age, and I think I’m more reserved now than I always was. It’s quite the opposite in some other respects, but that’s probably a matter of convenience which I didn’t allow myself before.
After this I’m going to edge in a question of my own, which someone else may want to answer. Introvert or Extravert or Ambivert (I kindly ask you to take it as inclinations, not rigid roles): I reckon there’s about 70 per cent of an introvert in me . It’s possible that I was more of an ambivert in my early childhood. My mother recalls that I would come to strangers in the street, take them by the hand and walk beside them smiling and keeping silence. I myself remember that I unhesitantly made friends with the children I saw for the first time but wanted to play; at the same time I was uncomfortable when I was late for nursery school and all the group stared at me when I came in (but I wasn’t confused because of being late, I didn’t even realize that, it was because of the unwanted attention). It wasn’t long before I refused going there altogether. When I started elementary school, I stopped making friends with the kids outside my class (I moved often, that’s why no childhood playmates remained), but I never had more than one close school friend (and we weren’t even as close as you may think). I liked to go about my business alone and never looked for my schoolmates to keep me company unless we’d agreed to do something together. It hasn’t changed up to now. But I’m still not disgusted at being physically close to strangers (like in a crowded shop) or at interactions with them when needed. I’m too indifferent for that :-P But I know that some other introverts hate such things.
I’m a much more open person when it comes to written communication, but it has its limits too. As it happens, I just like writing, composing a neat text and taking my time. It’s not the case with written chatting which tires me out pretty much in the same way as a long spoken conversation; although it also depends on the sort of a person my companion is. I feel absolutely at ease talking to other introverts (or ambiverts) for hours: we can just walk silently together and look around and then continue our conversation as if there were no pause. It was almost always different with those few extraverts I ever talked to. Near them I felt like it was my work to talk to those people and I couldn’t relax and didn't have much to enjoy. They probably thought me a frustrating black hole too . But a couple of them seemed more agreeable to me, or I just didn’t know them well enough. I guess some of extraverts are more pushing while some others are not.
Favorite Color(s): Dark and cold hues, deep gray and black as well. They are most pleasing to my eye, but I don’t actually have a strict preference for only one. Generally I’m okay with all the colors.
What Brought You To the Dark Side: The short answer is: mainly music. The long answer: I watched horror movies since a very young age, but I wasn’t really fond of them, I just watched everything (music videos included). But I was always fascinated with sad and tragic scenes in movies and literature, I liked dark and melancholic songs my parents played (and they played russian gothic rock, Mylene Farmer, Dead Can Dance, and some weird new age stuff), though I wasn’t into music at the time. After I was, I still preferred dark mood and atmosphere and was able to find them even amongst short-lived pop songs of the early 2000’s. That was a time when In the Shadows by The Rasmus and Bring Me to Life by Evanescence roared across my country. Well, I become obsessed with The Rasmus first (say what you will, but their Dead Letters was twice as dark as the pop I listened to), then I inevitably got interested in Evanescence and so on. It was much easier for me to find what I like in the rock genre. Nightwish secured my preference for dark metal, but it wasn’t long before I developed a liking for dark electronic music too.
Boxers, Thongs, Knickers, Briefs or Commando: Granny panties, yes. “Call me freaky//Call me sick//I like it sticky//I like it big”... (the song I took those lines from isn't about granny panties, but it's funny enough...)
Children and/or Pets: No/No. Sometimes I like children more than adults (so-called), but I don’t think I’d be a good mother. Who can tell? As for pets, I had a pair of hamsters when I was 6 or so. Didn’t like them much because they would bite me, but I brought this on myself by annoying them. Accidentally killed one of them when he was crawling under the opened door and I closed it . Another one lived a year or more longer than hamsters’ typical 3-year lifespan.
Then I had 3 female cats (a mother and her 2 daughters from different litters, all 3 looked nothing like each other), but only for 2 or 3 years. My family gave them one by one to other people because we moved often and were in desperate straits not once. I still love cats (although they used to scratch me so bad that my mother thought I'd cut myself with a knife; but, again, it was my fault ) and I still have no apartment of my own for them.
Favorite Band(s): Lacrimosa, Ataraxia, London After Midnight, Snakeskin, Sopor Aeternus, Nightwish, Ea (funeral doom), Colosseum (funeral doom)... oh well, I can wonderfully do with the first 3 bands :-)
Favorite Movie Or Show: Last time I really enjoyed watching a movie was in 2008, and the movie was old, and I watched it for the 3rd or 4th time. It was Stargate (by R. Emmerich, 1994). The antagonist (Jaye Davidson) was probably my first crush ever (I remember being mesmerized by him when I was yet 5-6 y.o.). Overall, it’s a funny and naive movie (by today’s standards at least), I had great time watching it *_* Before that, I was impressed by What Dreams May Come, The Lord of the Rings, X-Men, The Ring (Japanese vers.)... but I don’t think I want to re-watch them any time soon. Who knows what tomorrow holds though.
Actor, Actress, or Musician You Have A Thing For: Sean Brennan (London After Midnight) for a year now. Before him, I got my kicks in turns from GPK (Australian electronic musician), Michael Draw (Otto Dix), Tilo Wolff (Lacrimosa), Tuomas Holopainen (Nightwish), Lauri Ylönen (Rasmus), well, even from Dani Filth (Cradle of Filth), but only for a week [lol]. Now I think I should figure out what they all have in common (besides them being musicians). Hmm...
Among actors (in addition to J. Davidson) I particularly liked Elijah Wood, Hugh Jackman, James Marsters as Spike (only for a short time), but most of my admiration was for the characters they played in the above-mentioned movies (well, I didn’t mention Buffy The Vampire Slayer, but that show wasn’t a big thing for me).
Falll, Winter, Spring, or Summer: Fall and winter, not only because I hate hot weather, but also because of my love for foul weather (it’s fine for me though). I become bored with the blue sky pretty soon, I never get depressed because of lack of sunlight, I don’t mind rain and snow, and I wish I lived in the north where I could enjoy a polar night (but I’ve no idea how I’d survive a polar day ).
Hobbies and/or Vices: incessant daydreaming (it's my main mental activity for as long as I can remember), writing fiction, listening to music, reading, slouching about (the forum is a nice place to pursue the latter...)
Here’s another question I’d like to answer. Favorite Books (Writers): I like prose fiction of all sorts, but I have few preferences. For instance, I intend to read all by Daphne du Maurier and Haruki Murakami, but I’m still halfway through it. There are lots of novels which became classics, just modern popular novels, and some books I liked because of their title or summary. I’ll go gray before I read a half of everything I want (and I don’t even want to read all the books in the world). Well, it’s out common lot, reading or not…
But I can unhesitantly name my favorite books... erm, or hesitantly, well, they're not many anyway. Lady Chatterley's Lover (D. Lawrence), Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors (M. Kotsiubynsky), The Forest Song (Lesya Ukrainka ), The Ring (K. Suzuki; although his writing manner is a bit tedious and I'm also sure that translations of his novels from Japanese to Russian were mostly bad; but his ideas and characters are pretty interesting), The Woman in Black (S. Hill), The Last Unicorn (P. Beagle), South of the Border, West of the Sun (H. Murakami), The vampire Armand (A. Rice), Mountains of Madness (H. Lovecraft, but I really dislike almost all other works by him, he's actually my UNfavorite writer), Zangezi (V. Khlebnikov, it's mad experimental prose, but I read it twice and was incredibly amused each time), The Novice (M. Lermontov; a funny thing is I'm not interested in poetry, but this poem had something in it to hook me), A Room with a View (E. Forster), okay, let's turn in . I didn't reread some of those books and I'm not sure they won't fall out of grace next time I get to them. And some others I plan to reread may become new favorites. I'm not hard to please in regards to literature, but my attitude to certain stories and manners of writing changes over time.
I mostly read English or American literature, it’s kind of solid and sometimes tedious, but I have a taste for it . I don't read French novels often, but they’re always remarkable, full of deep passions and tragic fates. Japanese literature is… just crazy, dark and weird, and sometimes I feel that I need nothing as much as a brutal or psychedelic (or brutal and psychedelic) Japanese novel %-) It’s a shame though that Japanese literature is often badly translated (there are some renowned translators, particularly for Murakami, but they can’t translate all Japanese books, while low-paid student translators make awful job of it).
Although my main focus is on the story, the author’s manner may be very important. Say, I detest S. King’s style (I can’t deny that his stories are captivating though), but another writer who describes generally the same things can do it so differently that I’m only getting more and more thrilled. Sometimes the style is conveyed in translation, sometimes it’s not (it must be, but shit happens). I immensely liked Lady Chatterley's Lover by D. Lawrence since I’d read it for the first time (in translation), but when I read the original English version, I realized that only a small part of the style was conveyed, although it serves as a powerful background to the plot. It’s not an easy reading, but it’s overwhelmingly beautiful *_*
Pet Peeves: toxic people, too much food, heat, lack of time, loud voices, fumes, the sound of an electric drill, being repeatedly disbelieved, ignored or pressed upon… quite a number of things.
Biggest Fear: Well… probably an unexpected physical abuse (emotional abuse isn’t much better, but it doesn’t touch on the possibility of immediate death at least).
Guilty Pleasure: Guilty? I tell you I’m saint! Ok, I like one song by Britney Spears and sometimes eat too much sweet stuff in a day, but seriously, what’s wrong about it? :-D
P.S. A pretty cool song by The Dears ;-)

What clothes do you like, Dizzy ? Is there a fashion style (or styles) you prefer?
(I've been generally indifferent about my clothing, but I feel and hope that it's going to change at some point.)
Pacing? I like to pace when thinking or just being bored. But some people believe it to be a sign of nervousness, so they advice me to take it easy

I'm from Ukraine in Eastern Europe. If you watch news often, you're probably tired of hearing that country's name But it's still possible to be doing rather fine here if you have friends to talk to (even online friends)
How do you like it in America? I've never been to foreign countries (I lived in Russia as a child though), so I'm really curious to know (There are many travel blogs and stuff, I read some, but every person has a unique opinion to tell.)

If you're new, this is the thread where you can tell the class a little about yourself, you can pick how you want to do it or just use the format I tend to go with, the choice is yours...This is cool Dev. Lol, got a kickout of a lot of your answers. Liked JohanneSoulless and Dizzy 's answers too. 😊
Aliases: wolf
Favorite Color(s): MANY. But predominantly Blue.
What Brought You To the Dark Side: When I was a kid. Monster and Sci-Fi Flicks, and comics like DC's "House of Mystery". Lol, I got in trouble with the penguins (nuns) in grade school for bringing them to school, and drawing pictures of demons and monsters in class.
Boxers, Thongs, Knickers, Briefs or Commando: Damnit, somebody is goin' to have buy me drink before i start thinkin' about talkin' on things like that. 😂😉...that reminds me...where's the nearest saloon around here?
Children and/or Pets: I have one child now 20 yrs. old. My sun, my son, the light of my life. Only him...I got it perfect on the first go, didn't have to do any do-overs. He's got a woman, and a baby girl wolf now too. Through no fault of my own I have 3 cats right now. Well, I take that back, it was me that was the cause of the Dude cat's rescue, and my kid going across the street and bringing him home. He was a tiny kitten, stray, all on his own. Saw a guy that was visiting a neighbor across the street and try to kick him. he was lucky he missed. (my sun said, "No mama! Please don't go out there and go all ballistic!" so i told him, "Then you get over there and bring me that baby. Now." I like kids.😊...but not all of them...some of them are little basturds and just bad seeds.😒
Favorite Band(s): Oh man, there are so many.
Favorite Movie Or Show: Many...I'll have come back to some of these items another time.🙂
Actor, Actress, or Musician You Have A Thing For: Hmmm...just for now, off the top of my head, I'll say Tom Hardy as the character James Keziah Delaney in his FX series "Taboo". THAT is a great one season series!
Falll, Winter, Spring, or Summer: I like all the seasons, but got to say I'm not crazy about severe cold.
Hobbies and/or Vices: Hobbies and vices. Okay, I've said it before "Alcohol and Tobacco are basic food groups". And when anyone says 'smoking is just burning money, it goes up in smoke', I just look at them and say, 'Yeah, well...you spend a lot of money on food, and we all know what that turns into'.
Pet Peeves: I hate the sound of a vacuum cleaner running, unless I'm the one using it.
Biggest Fear: I really don't have fear. Seen and been through too damn much. But I'm not too crazy about power saws or chain saws. Reciprocating saws are good. When I was a kid I was scared of spiders, they freaked me out they seem to move fast and slow at the same time...sometimes.
Guilty Pleasure: None.
Others are free to use the same questions, or create your own.. either or... I like what you have here Dev. Thanks. 😊
